Message from our Chair

Committee Corner
 - a message from our Pack Committe Chair, Victoria Worthley

I would like to take a moment to thank all the adult leaders and parents who volunteer their time and talents every year.  Without everyone's help, Pack 11 would not be where it is today.

There was a time when Pack 11 had no active Pack Committee and the Cub Master and one or two other volunteers did all the work.  But thanks to the efforts of many more parent volunteers, we now have a fully staffed committee.  This has enabled our Cub Master to focus his efforts to putting together a fun and exciting program for the boys each month and to devote more time serving as a resource to our exceptional Den Leaders.  Having a full committee means the Pack is more organized and the work is spread out over many individuals which means no one person is overburdened.

Our Pack is always, and will always, be in a state of change.  Each year new cubs come in and older Webelos cross over into Boy Scouts.  But change always brings about new and wonderful opportunities and we welcome it.  New volunteers bring fresh ideas and the Pack grows and becomes better because of it.  Our committee positions are fully defined and taking over a position will be relatively easy with the help of the existing committee members.  There are also numerous training opportunities both in person and online through the North Florida Council and several online resources.  Our advise is not to wait until the position is vacant.  Step up now and you will have a valuable resource available to you to learn the job.

In closing, I would like to say that for me being the Pack Committee Chairperson is a fun and rewarding experience.  In my small way, I have been able to help the Pack grow and put on an excellent program for our young boys.  The satisfaction I get from being able to watch my sons, and yours, grow and learn and have fun is immeasurable.
