Joining Pack 11

Thank you for your interest in joining Cub Scouts and Pack 11

Here is some quick information you will need to know.

How old does my son need to be to join?

Cub Scouting is open to all boys who are in 1st through 5th grade.

Where and when do we meet?

Pack 11 meets as a Pack the third Thursday of each month from 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm at Faith Community Church located at
3450 C.R. 210, W (just West of Cimarrone Golf and Country Club).
Boys will be placed in a Den according to their age.  Dens usually meet twice a month (in addition to the monthly Pack
meeting) at a location and time agreed upon by the members of the den.  Click the "DENS" icon above for exact times.

When can my son join?

Boys can join Cub Scouting anytime!
Pack 11 typically does a major recruitment rush at the begining of every school calendar year.  This is called the Cub Scout
Round-Up and is held every September at Timberlin Creek Elementary.

How much does it cost?

2010 / 2011 annual dues for Pack 11 are $75.00*.  Of that, about $20 goes to our local council to cover administrative
costs and the rest goes directly to Pack 11 to cover the costs of supplies, badges, awards and activities.
      * this amount is subject to change each calendar year.

What else to I need to buy?

      Each scout should have:

  • A Cub Scout Handbook specific to his rank (Tiger, Wolf, Bear, Webelos)
  • "Class A" uniform to be worn to all Pack Meetings and community activities.  These can be purchased new through ScoutStuff.org or at a local retail outlet.  Uniforms can also be bought second-hand from sites such as Ebay and Craigslist or your local consignment store.
  • A Pack-11 T-Shirt is also recommended but not required.  The Pack T-Shirts are generally worn to all den meetings and informal outdoor activities.

What forms do I need to fill out?

Each scout, and their parents, must complete the Youth Application Form (scouts), the Adult Application Form (parents who
have volunteered in a leadership capacity), the Photo Release Form, the Code of Conduct, and the BSA Annaul Health and
      Medical Record Form
(click on icons at the top of the page for forms).

What else do I need to know?

Please understand that "Family Involvement" is essential to Cub Scouting success.  This is not an activity to drop off your
child and pick up an hour later.  As a program for the entire family, Cub Scouting can help families teach their children a
wholesome system of values and beliefs while building and strengthening relationships among family members. Cub Scouting
helps parents and sons grow closer, and your involvement as a parent of a Cub Scout is vital.  Additionally, volunteer leaders
support Cub Scouting by serving in many roles, and find great satisfaction in lending their support to youth and the
community.  We will be asking you to volunteer in some capacity from time to time.
