We are looking forward to seeing you and your family one last time before summer.  Pack 11 will provide the burgers, dogs and condiments and we are asking everyone to bring a side dish or beverages to share.

Nestled among the shade of oak trees and sitting on the western bank of the St. Johns River, Spring Park offers the perfect venue for this afternoon of family fun.
Bring lawn chairs, fishing poles, yard games (corn hole, horseshoes, frisbees, footballs, etc..) and enjoy a relaxing and peaceful afternoon with your Pack 11 family.  We have reserved the large pavillion by the River.  The park has a large public dock to fish or drive your boat up to and a huge playground as well as large open grassy areas for the kids to run around and have fun.

At 6:15 pm our boys will participate in the offical crossing over ceremony where they will move from Tigers to Wolves, Wolves to Bears or Bears to Webelos.  Be sure to bring your camera!

Reminders
1)  Scouts need to sit with their den and remain seating during the Pack Meeting.  They are not allowed to leave the main area unless they need to go to the restroom in which case, they MUST be accompanied by a parent.

2)  No child is allowed up on the stage unless they are getting an award or asked to come up.

3)  ALL scouts need to wear their “Class A” uniforms at pack meetings.  Shirts MUST be tucked in.  Any scout who shows up without a proper uniform, needs to explain to the Cubmaster why he did not wear it.

4)  As soon as the meeting ends, please have your scout pick up any trash on the floor and throw it away in the trash can.

Welcome to Pack 11!

From Victoria Worthley,
Pack Committee Chair

Where scouting is fun... with a purpose.

The scouts, families and leaders of Pack 11 are off to another great year! Lots of activities and events are planned to keep our scouts busy.

Our Pack Meetings are designed to reinforce several of the 12 Core Values of Scouting, including citizenship, compassion, cooperation, courage, faith, health and fitness, honesty, perseverance, positive attitude, resoursefulness, respect and responsibility.

Our 2011 topics are:
October - Citizenship
Nov/Dec -Responsibility and Respect
January - Positive Attitude February - Courage

All activities and events are designed to help our scouts meet requirements for advancing to their next rank, while at the same time having fun and learning valueable lessons
along the way.  We also believe that an important part of scouting is giving back to the community, and therefore, encourage our scouts to participate in some of the many community service projects we will be working on this year.

We have a great program for boys in first through fifth grade.  Most of our scouts attend either Timberlin Creek Elementary School or Liberty Pines Academy, but we welcome any boys in the area who are interested in Cub Scouting.

Pack 11 meets at 6:30pm generaly on the third Thursday* of each month at Faith Community Church - 3450 C.R. 210 W
(just west of Cimarrone Golf and Country Club).

* There are a few instances this year when the Pack Meeting will take place on a different night. Always check the calendar on the home page for up-to-date times, date and information.

Some of our annual activities include:  Family Campouts, Community Service Projects, Fundraisers, the Blue and Gold Banquet, Hiking, the Pinewood Derby, Field Trips, and much more.

Our Pack is made up of several dens.  Dens are groups of 6-10 boys of the same age/grade.  Dens usually meet twice a month and work on completing achievements designed to move your scout to the next rank.  The Den leader and families decide upon specific times and locations.  If you know someone else that might be interested in joining our Pack, pass on our information.  Boys can join scouts anytime.

And, please feel free to contact me anytime if you have questions.  I can be reached at: victoria@pack-11.org.

Please welcome our new Cub Master,  Erik Bailey

Erik is a former Eagle Scout and father to one of our new Tiger Cubs.  Erik is full of energy and enthusiasm and lots of good ideas.  He is looking forward to meeting all the boys and we will all enjoy getting to know him as well.

Additionally, we'd like to welcome and thank several parents who have agreed to take on some specific responsibilities:

Craig Robinson, is our new new Campout Coordinator
Ryan Alala has volunteered to head up the Pinewood Derby
Arlene Braum is joining our Pack Committee as the Advancement Coordinator
Chantal Allain who will be our permanent Pack Meeting Administrator, and
Sireesha Gudibandi who will take on the role of Pack Photographer and possibly future webmaster.

If there is something you would like to do, please let Kathy or Victoria know.  We welcome all the help we can get and any and all new ideas or suggestions.

A few reminders:

Your son should always wear his Class A uniform to all Pack Meetings. Uniforms promote unity and pride and are a way for your son to show off his achievements.

Pack-11 T-Shirts can be worn to den meetings and other
            outdoor scouting events.

Pack Meetings are generaly the third Thursday of every month and start promptly at 6:30pm, however please check the calendar on the home page regularly as some Pack Meetings
            will be at different times.

Beginning with the October Pack Meeting,
arrive early for pizza and drinks (6:00 pm).
This is also a great opportunity to mingle and
get to know other families in the pack.

Cub Scouting is heavily dependent on volunteers.  Please speak to your den leader or committee member and let them know how, where and when you can help out.

All belt loops, advancements, awards and achievements must be logged into ScoutTrack no later than midnight the Sunday preceeding the next Pack Meeting.

Please be sure to thank your Den leaders often and give them a hand when asked.  They volunteer their time to make Cub Scouting a terrific experience for our boys.  They are the cornerstones of scouting
and without them there would be no Pack.

WE NEED YOU!
(no experience necessary)

Pack 11 will succeed when parents volunteer!!!  Become a Scout Volunteer and help build a better future for your son, your community and your life.  You will quickly discover that Scout volunteering is extremely rewarding and allows you to learn new skills and build lifelong friendships while having a great time.

We have immediate opening in several areas including:

Assistant Cub Master
Banquet Committee
Camp Out Committee
Fundraising Committee
Pinewood Derby
